Checkpoint 04/25

by Chong Han Chua @ 2:57 am 25 April 2011

The previous checkpoint was a reality check, and I scrapped the computer vision project for a continuation of my twingring project.

A short list of things I have to do and where I am:
1. Put on the web
2. Fix bugs
3. Modulate sound to create different voices
4. Do dictionary swaps and replacements of text
5. Switch to real time API and increase filtering options
6. Design and multiple parties

Instead of doing a search, the new option will revolve around looking for hashtags or using a starting message id. With this, we can prototype a play with multiple actors as well as real time. This would enable twingring to act as a real life twitter play of some sort, which should be fun to watch.

On the user interface side, there’ll be some work required to improve the display of messages, the display of users, as well as a way to visualize who is talking and who isn’t. Some other work includes making it robust and possibly port it for iPad (probably not).

The one on the left should always be a girl ect. also, INSTRUCTIONS!
There should be a busy signal when people don’t talk to each other.
    It doesn’t work for me.
Cool. I think it would be funnier if their mouth opened when they said something…and closed when they weren’t.
This project is so weird. I’m not sure how to react to it.
To be really effective, I think this needs to live in a radio.
that red logo is hard to see. go 50’s. soft-pink? <-- how would a pastel pink be contrasting with the background? better to fix the white offset on the logo UNCANNY VALLEY! This could be nightmare fodder in the best possible way. Snoop dog voice please. Als maybe go Fallout 3 50s vs. puky Jonny Rockets/Coke Ads as far as a design theme. What's a belieber? <-- long synonymn for douche<-- ah, qsl. Hilarious. I wanted to hear different voices though, possibly randomized.
