NYT Minus Context is a twitter bot that tweets lines from the New York Times content, eliminating their initial context. There are numerous twitter bots with poetic qualities and it’s interesting to observe how simple retrieval from articles and elimination of context can give expressions a different context. This method of retrieval is prevalent in many other twitter bots but I find this one to be special because it gives insight to voices that are current and alive. It’s quite entertaining to look through the tweets, discovering ones that sometimes resemble words of wisdom from fortune cookies, some giving out the most nonsensical expressions.
