Liquid Sound Collision by Eva Schindling

I just found this piece by Eva Schindling that blew my mind. Not only is it simple, imaginative and elegant, it is also very much aligned with my personal interests and previous work involving cognition and sound waves.

Her piece attempts to describe the tension between natural dichotomies, stressing that the world is not black nor white. In her own words, “Liquid Sound Collisions uses spoken words and the complexity of fluid mechanics to create snapshots of these dynamics.” By sending recordings of poetic opposite words, such as objectivity and subjectivity, into a fluid simulation the artist is able to depict patterns of collision which are then translated into magnificent 3D sculptures.
