sPitZ & uMeSh – research gatherings

We started looking at how to use mTurk to get a demographic spread of audio. The plan was to ask people to record a hum and then process the hum to get pitch/tone information. We planned to look at pitch differences based on nation, age, gender, smoking habits etc. The final output could be a ‘people specific’ hum generator.

Digging a little deeper we started looking at the using crowd-source for the visuals, using mTurk to animate frames in a video sequence and possibly use crowd-sourced info to generate a soundtrack for a movie. We’ve started with the deconstruction of a movie and are also working towards an applet for the client-side of mTurk.
