You always see time lapses of sky or weather, but here they actually use their images to make something useful/interesting. By spanning across 360 days, the viewer is able to compare each day throughout the year. Even though it is such a simple concept, it is very successful when they place all the time lapses in one window. I would love to see this again but with different cities to compare weather patterns between regions. You would then know visually, which cities have more cloudy days vs. clear blue sky throughout the year which is different from hearing it from the weather man.

Now that the majority of photography has gone digital, people take a lot more photos throughout their lives. You know that there are lots of photos out there, but you really don’t stop to think about how many exactly. By physically printing 24 hours worth of Flickr photos, you are truly able to grasp how many people are using photography to journal about their lives. This creates a massive amount of data throughout the day for the world to see. This also gives you a perspective of being lost or drowned out amongst the rest of the Flickr users. On a happier note, you can see how much paper is being saved from landfills.  :-)

The imagery of this time lapse of earth is incredible. It is similar to the map of the world at night, where you can see the shape of some countries highlighted by lights. In seeing this, you can understand which areas are more populated. As a motion designer, I love the fact that the telescope is constantly moving, showing you different parts of earth at different times, providing a lot of data. It may be more interesting than useful, but I think it helps people grasp how different things are happening in different regions at the same time. My favorite part of this clip is how it is showing lightning. In one area, lightning appears from clouds, while at the same time in another area, everything is completely calm and clear.
