New Lectures on Time

Introduction to OSC

OSC is the standard protocol for communicating real-time data between computers or processes (in the media arts fields).

  • touchOSC.zip : sends data from the TouchOSC app
  • gyrOSC.zip : get accelerometer/gyro data from your phone
  • faceOSC.zip (and ofxFaceTracker) : get face expressions and data points
    • example-align-eyes — takes faces and normalizes them
    • example-expression — classifies expressions
    • example-non-realtime — processes movies instead of cameras
  • blinkOSC.zip : get blink events from a camera
